I'm just a little gold star Sitting on top of a tree, With nothing to do all day, Except sit here and watch TV. TV used to be so good Way back in days of old When movies or variety shows would entertain. I still watch movies, but reality TV Always leaves me in pain! Then, before I know it, Christmas Day is here. Now Christmas is supposed to be The season of good cheer. The family gather for their Christmas feast And there'll be laughs aplenty. Plenty to eat, plenty to drink, But none for me. I feel so empty! Nobody knows that I'm alive. To them, I'm just a star, Sitting on top of the Christmas tree To be admired from afar. But, in the dead of night, When the family are asleep And not a sound can be heard – not a single peep! Strange sounds come from the tree As all of the decorations rise from their sleep. The soldiers start marching, The band starts playing, The snowflakes dance with the baubles. They dance around the Christmas tree. The lights are flashing as they dance merrily. As for me, I'm still here, Sitting at the top of the tree, But I'm having so much fun Shining in all my glory!
